Psalm 146:7–8 Happy are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God, who executes justice for the oppressed; who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free; the Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous.
1 Samuel 25:18, 20, 32 Then Abigail hurried and took two hundred loaves, two skins of wine, five sheep ready dressed, five measures of parched grain, one hundred clusters of raisins, and two hundred cakes of figs. She loaded them on donkeys. As she rode on the donkey and came down under cover of the mountain, David and his men came down towards her; and she met them. David said to Abigail, ‘Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who sent you to meet me today!
1 John 4:19–21 We love because he first loved us. Those who say, ‘I love God’, and hate their brothers or sisters, are liars; for those who do not love a brother or sister whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen. The commandment we have from him is this: those who love God must love their brothers and sisters also.
