In December both at Nether Springs and in our online contexts, we are using two sets of readings each day.
The scripture readings for Morning Prayer will support our reflections on ‘Deeper Life’ which are taken from the Aidan series in Celtic Daily Prayer Book 1. The reflections are on the subject of the call to a deeper life, aware that, on the journey of our life, we really belong ‘somewhere else’. The scripture readings will also be shown on our website.
Our Evening Prayer will use the readings ‘Enter In’’ which are taken from the Finan readings in Celtic Daily Prayer Book 1. These reflections are taken from Catherine de Hueck Doherty’s book Poustinia.
Even though we will be using these readings, please do explore the other sets of readings in our prayer books, which you might find more pertinent to you during the month. For example, some of us will use the Jesse Tree readings from the Colman series in Celtic Daily Prayer 2 during Advent.
