hetton1 Welcome to our all-new website, filled with news and information about the Northumbria Community.  We're adding new stuff all the time, and if you're 'just looking' then you're welcome to come in and browse around.  If you're looking for something in particular, then we hope you'll find it here!  You can receive notifications each time pages are updated, by using the 'rss feed'.  You can click the rss link at the bottom of any page, whenever it's present, to receive notifications of changes to that page.   The rss icon is the orange square with the white dot and two squiggles in it.

You may want to make use of the icons above the Search box in the top header, which can adjust the font size up or down for you, depending on your screen resolution (and how good your eyes are!)

If you arrived at Hetton Hall, the Mother House of the Northumbria Community, the first thing we'd probably do is put the kettle on, and have a blether... so what's the online equivalent of that?  Just come on in and make yourself at home, and you'll find the answers to some of your questions about the Northumbria Community... eventually... probably..

If you're a visitor, you might be wondering 'just what IS the Northumbria Community?'. Well, it's not easy to summarise in a few sentences... but if you click the 'Who are we' link, we'll have a go!

We are seeking to explore a new form of monasticism, and you can read about that here.

One of the things which binds us together as a Community is our Daily Office. It's a pattern of daily prayer which helps us to bring a rhythm to our day, wherever we are and whatever we're doing. Explore it here.

The Community's trading company is called Cloisters, and it's one of the ways we put 'bread on our table'.  Cloisters has its own website, which you can explore here.

Nether Springs, the Mother House of the Northumbria Community, is in Northumberland in the far north of England. We run retreats, and also offer private space for reflection. Have a look to see what's on at Nether Springs.

If all else fails, and you really can't find what you're looking for, then This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , and Ellen will get on to it!

Newsflash

On the new site we've created blogging-spaces for both Roy Searle and Pete Askew.  Pete can't wait to get in to the 'moving the Mother House' project, so it seems likely that most of his posts might focus on that process, at least in the immediate future.  Roy does a lot of travelling out and about in the Community, and so he's always full of stories and reflection.  And he likes to write!  So we should find these pages fill up nicely...  Remember that the newest items will always appear at the top of the page.

Trevor Miller isn't one for blogging really, but he's got loads of great material to share in the 'Sharing Wisdom' section of the Resources Area.
